Nottingham Forest have received an encouraging boost in their pursuit of Fenerbahce left-back Archie Brown, who has expressed an openness to returning to the Premier League under the right circumstances. The 24-year-old English defender has attracted Forest's attention for some time, and his latest comments have renewed speculation about a potential move back to his home country.
Forest previously attempted to sign Brown during the summer transfer window but failed to reach an agreement with Fenerbahce. The Premier League club reportedly submitted a €16 million offer in May, only for the Turkish side to reject it and demand €18 million. Despite that setback, Forest have continued to monitor the defender's situation as they consider their options for the upcoming transfer window.
The club's interest remains strong even though Oliver Glasner already has Luca Netz and Nico Williams available at left-back. Reports suggest Forest are considering a fresh bid worth approximately €15 million ahead of the next transfer window. However, Fenerbahce have since raised their valuation of Brown to €30 million and are reportedly unwilling to let him leave in January, creating a significant obstacle for the English side.
Brown's own ambitions could play an important role in determining his future. The defender has made it clear that he remains interested in playing in the Premier League, although he has not committed himself to a move or indicated that a transfer is imminent. His connection to English football makes a return an appealing possibility, particularly if a suitable club presents an attractive opportunity at the right stage of his career.
Forest's chances of securing Brown will ultimately depend on several factors, including their performances under Glasner and their willingness to meet Fenerbahce's financial demands. With the Turkish club holding a strong negotiating position, an immediate transfer could prove difficult. Nevertheless, Brown's openness to a Premier League return keeps the possibility alive, leaving Forest with a potential target to revisit when the transfer window opens.
