Tottenham Hotspur have reached an agreement with Manchester City to sign Brazilian winger Savinho in a deal that could rise to £85 million. Spurs are expected to pay £75 million upfront, with another £10 million available through performance-related bonuses. The transfer brings an end to Tottenham’s long-standing pursuit of the 22-year-old, who was also a target for the club last summer.

Savinho joined Manchester City from Troyes in 2024 for around €40 million but struggled to establish himself as a regular starter. He made 53 appearances for the club, scoring twice and providing 12 assists. During his final Premier League season under Pep Guardiola, he started only seven league matches, while he was also left out of City’s squad for the Community Shield defeat against Arsenal as negotiations with Tottenham progressed.

The Brazilian is now set to undergo a medical before completing a long-term contract with Tottenham. His arrival continues an extraordinary summer of spending for Spurs, who have already invested heavily in their squad with the additions of Sandro Tonali, Mateus Fernandes and Jan Paul van Hecke, alongside free-agent signings Marcos Senesi, Andy Robertson and Martin Dúbravka. The club has offset part of that expenditure by generating around £140 million from player departures.

Tottenham could still conduct more business with Manchester City, with discussions reportedly continuing over a separate move for Omar Marmoush. Savinho’s transfer represents a major attacking investment as new head coach Roberto De Zerbi prepares for the start of the Premier League campaign. After choosing to remain at City last summer and compete for his place, Savinho will now begin a new chapter in north London with expectations high following the club’s significant investment.
