According to the latest report from The Sun, Cole Palmer has once again traveled to Ibiza to unwind after being left out of England’s World Cup squad, using the break to help cope with his disappointment.
The Chelsea star failed to make Thomas Tuchel’s final 26-man squad for this summer’s World Cup, missing out on a place at the tournament.
The 24-year-old endured an inconsistent campaign and headed to the Spanish island for a holiday shortly after learning of his omission. Palmer was photographed at a beach club alongside owner Wayne Lineker, 63, with a bottle of Grey Goose vodka visible on the table. Wearing a striking gold watch and gold chain, Palmer relaxed on a bright yellow sofa as he received a warm welcome from Lineker. He also visited the venue briefly last year after winning the FIFA Club World Cup before quickly returning to Chelsea for pre-season preparations.
Palmer has struggled to fully recover from the physical demands of last season’s intense schedule, with injuries and inconsistent performances affecting him throughout the past year. The former Manchester City forward scored 10 Premier League goals this season, although five of them came from the penalty spot, leaving him five goals short of the tally he managed during Enzo Maresca’s first full season in charge.
Now, Palmer can only watch the tournament from home while Tuchel leads England’s preparations in the United States. The squad arrived in Florida this week and began training in temperatures reaching 32°C, with the team staying at a luxury resort in Palm Beach.
Palmer is one of several high-profile players to miss out on selection. Following his breakthrough performances after joining Chelsea in 2023 and establishing himself as an England international, this marks his first extended break away from the spotlight and competitive football in several years.
